We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology section here at our progressive and forward thinking Trust. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the single discipline 24/7 shift system and training will be provided to complete all duties. This is a great opportunity to join an expanding workforce within a department which has seen significant investment in the last year.

This post is currently subject to a Recruitment & Retention Premium (RRP) of 5% on top of your salary pay point – the Recruitment & Retention Premium (RRP) is applicable to Band 5, Band 6 and Band 7 Biomedical Scientists for an initial period of 12 months until June 2020. The RRP will be reviewed against recruitment and retention statistics including turnover to measure its effectiveness during this time.
You will join our excellent Pathology Service which has full accreditation as a HCPC/IBMS Training Laboratory, ISO:15189 accreditation throughout all Blood Science disciplines and full MHRA compliance for Blood Transfusion. Our ambitious Trust has a good reputation for innovation and now is a great time to join our team as we invest in our people and our infrastructure with a new generation of analysers across the whole service.
The Haematology department carries out a range of automated and semi-automated tests, including haemoglobin variant analysis and HbA1c monitoring. The Department is fully computerised with CliniSys WinPath and has recently been fully updated with a Sysmex XN9100 system including InterrLiner for FBC and ESR, ACL TOP350 coagulometers and Ortho Vision grouping analysers in Haematology and Blood Transfusion as part of a managed service contract
