Located in the multicultural east end of London we are situated close to the heart of the capital, whilst being within easy reach of the M11 and M25.

We are seeking for a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist night worker to join our team. Applications are invited from Band 6 BMS staff with specialist knowledge of Haematology and Blood transfusion to participate in predominantly night shift duties. The successful applicant would be required to attend during routine core hours for initial and periodic refresher training as required and for personal development.

You will be HCPC registered with substantive post registration experience in Haematology and Blood transfusion. The successful applicant will be a team player with good analytical, organisational, time management, I.T, and interpersonal skills including skills in training junior staff and ability to use initiative and take responsibility.

The laboratory is well equipped and fully automated using Sysmex XN track for Full Blood Counts, Sysmex 2100i for Coagulation screen, Biorad IH1000 for blood groups and Biorad variant 2 for Haemoglobinopathies. The Pathology department is fully computerised with Clinisys WinPath which is linked to the Trust’s electronic patient record using Cerner. The laboratory is a HCPC training laboratory and it has full UKAS ISO15189 accreditation under the new standards and CPD and personal development is actively encouraged.
