The newly created Derbyshire Pathology serves both the Royal Derby Hospital Pathology and Chesterfield Royal Hospital Pathology Services and is hosted by University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation.

The single Clinically Lead Management Team for Derbyshire Pathology aims to

Provide a sustainable and efficient high quality pathology service for Derbyshire
Standardisation of end to end processes
Accreditation of the combined service to United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) ISO: 15189 to assure our users of the highest technical standards and quality of service in all that we do
Standardisation of pricing models for the users of our service

You will be working as part of the newly formed Derbyshire Pathology Service within the Microbiology or Virology Laboratory based at Royal Derby Hospital depending on your area of expertise. The post is full-time however part-time, flexible hours and job share will be considered.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Requirements of the role:

Educated to MSc level standard or equivalent.
Manage the day to day technical activities of the designated specialist area
Provide clear leadership to the team
Deliver a high quality, timely and effective service within the designated budget as agreed with the Service Manager and Specialist Technical Manager.
Flexibility in your approach as there may be need to work out of hours and weekends
Excellent communication skills together with excellent organisational skills are essential requirements for this post
